FAQ

We’ve put together answers to the most common questions. If you cannot find the answer below, please get in touch – we are happy to talk via email or over the phone.

Order Values

What is the minimum order value?

For first orders, the minimum order value is £150 (ex VAT). After that, no minimum order value is set – we understand know situations arise where a small order would be useful.

Please note that we only sell to the trade – not private individuals.

What is the minimum quantity per product?

We’ve set this as low as we reasonably can as we wish to support independent retailers that might only need small quantities. We sell loose weight products in the individual wholesale pack/bag quantities.

For retail packaged products, whilst we prefer to sell in case/carton quantities (As supplied to us by the manufacturer or distributor), we do offer in smaller quantities where possible e.g. a half carton of 6 jars.

We do typically charge a little more when we split cases/cartons due to the additional effort required to repackage. This does however allow our customers to test new products with lower upfront costs and to replenish stock in smaller increments, reducing cash tied up in stock.

How do quantity price breaks work? (unit, carton, case & pallet etc)

To minimise our overheads (and unit costs to our customers) we prefer to ship products in the wholesale cartons/cases they we supplied to us with. However, for many products, we do ship in smaller quantities (e.g. half cartons/cases) to support customers that need smaller quantities. Conversely, for customers wanting pallet quantities, the reduced overheads mean we can offer a lower unit price than we do for individual cartons/cases. For each of these, the unit price can vary.

As an example, a product might be sold in multiples of 6 and have the following pricing:

  • 1+ - £3 per unit
  • 12 (Case) - £2 per unit
  • 120 (Pallet 0f 10 cases) - £1 per unit

If an order was placed for 138, the pricing would be:

one pallet (120 x £1) + one case (12 x  £2) + 6 units (6 x £3)

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship to?

We ship to all UK destinations. If you are based outside of this area, we do offer a
collection service but you will need to organise your own courier & insurance as well as importation/exporation paperwork and pay and duties or fees required.

Can I collect my order?

Yes!

If you wish to collect yourselves ore via a nominated courier we are happy to support this (and refund and shipping charges if they were applied), please just select warehouse collection when ordering.

Please note that we will notify you when your order is ready for collection along with location and hours (typically 9-5 Monday-Friday)

How long does shipping take?

We dispatch same day for orders placed before midday (Monday-Friday) unless delayed due to exceptional circumstances or when pre-agreed.

We may delay shipping certain products in extreme heat conditions to avoid transit damage. If this is the case, we will notify you at time of order (and highlight ahead of time on our website). If the delivery is urgent, we will work to offer climate controlled delivery options but this service will have a delivery surcharge.

We use reliable carriers that typically take 1-2 business days (Typically DPD, Royal Mail or DHL). We only use carriers that we are happy to use ourselves!

All methods of shipping offer full tracking and email notifications.

How do you package pallets?

We carefully stack goods and wrap them in black wrap to secure the goods and hide the contents from eyes that may have a sweet tooth connected to them.

Unfortunately, our pallets are not stackable. We normally limit pallets to 5-600kg to minimise risks of issues.

Over the years, we’ve imported several hundred pallets of goods and have seen pretty much every example of how not to do it!

How much does shipping cost?

As little as possible. We don’t make money on shipping, it is subsidised by the cost of goods sold – we just pass on enough of the costs to make selling commercially viable.

We don’t use the very cheapest couriers due to reliability issues, we use the best value ones that get the job done on time, without transit damage and no drama.

Do I have to pay for importation or deal with customs?

No, our UK based customers will be purchasing from us and all our stock is based in the UK in our Wilstshire warehouse. We have dealt with the importation costs, paperwork and other headaches so you don’t have to.

What payment methods do you accept?

  • Credit/debit card
  • Paypal
  • Bank Transfer

Do you offer payment on account (e.g. net terms?)

At this moment in time, no we do not offer credit terms. We only offer upfront payment and payment by invoice (Goods are not dispatched until paid).

Returns & Cancellations

Can I cancel my order?

We will do what we can.

Quality Confectionery Wholesale does not sell to consumers, only businesses or to individuals who are trading or acting as a trader (buying goods to re-sell for profit). This means that the Consumer Contracts Regulations do not apply and there is no 'cooling-off' period because no-one is the 'Consumer'.  As such, we are not obligated to cancel and refund orders after they have been placed.

We do however understand that mistakes happen, and wevwill refund where possible assuming the goods are returned to us in pristine condition - but this is at our discretion.

If you cancel before dispatch, we will happily refund.

Please see our return and refund policy for full details.

I received goods that were damaged / faulty / not as described

We check goods before dispatch and sell them ourselves via retail. However, occasionally things still slip through the net.

If goods were damaged during transit using a carrier organised by us, please get in touch to organise a refund / replacement / credit.

If products arrived faulty or were otherwise not as described, please get in contact and we will get any issues resolved.

How can I contact you?

By email, phone or face to face (By appointment or when picking up an order)

We operate on low margins so typically the answer is no. We occasionally get offered discounted stock and pass these savings on when we purchase it.

However, please do contact us for pallet & larger quantities of products and we will see what we can do.

Can you import specific products / product ranges for me?
